Baroque Rocks! – An evening of Baroque classics – 7:30pm
On a first-time tour to the UK and northern Europe, the Davis Senior High School Baroque Ensemble, from Davis, California, directed by Angelo Moreno performs an eclectic programme of Baroque classics. This unique ensemble of music students aged 16-18 years, focuses purely on Baroque performance practices and the mastery of technique skills on period-style instruments. The period-style instruments allow the unique style of the era to be further developed, making the overall performance experience more historically accurate and engaging for the student musicians and audiences.
Working with such pros as Rachel Podger and Rachel Barton Pine, the quality of this fine ensemble must be experienced. Although young, the talent is there for all to see.
This is a free event with an optional retiring collection for the church.
