Canticum – St John Passion

Music that combines raw human emotion, spiritual depth and transcendent beauty – JS Bach’s St John Passion is a journey through Christ’s capture, judgement and crucifixion. Grief, betrayal, hope and redemption are conveyed through some of the most powerful and moving music ever written.

This sublime work comes to life in a performance by chamber choir Canticum and period instrument ensemble Counterpoint. Whether religious or not, the Passion speaks to universal themes: the pain of loss, the struggle for forgiveness and the triumph of love.
