An evening full of hope and inspiration with traditional carols, celebrity readings from Alzheimer's Research UK Ambassador Scott Mitchell, Dame Mary Berry DBE, Angela Rippon CBE, Baroness Benjamin OM, DBE, DL and beautiful music from the London Youth Chamber Choir. Nonsuch Singers invite you to immerse yourself in a richly varied programme of sacred choral music spanning 17th-century Germany and Italy. From the profound intensity of Heinrich Schütz’s Musikalische Exequien and the radiant praise of his Deutsches Magnificat, to the lyrical devotion of Cavalli’s Salve Regina and Isabella Leonarda’s vibrant Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, this concert explores faith, grief, and exaltation through some of the period’s most compelling voices. The programme is crowned by works of J. S. Bach, including the jubilant Lobet den Herrn and deeply moving motets Komm, Jesu, Komm and Der Geist Hilft, offering a powerful and uplifting journey through the spiritual heart of the Baroque.
